Cindy Bam - Bio

Cindy Bam is a Cape Town based designer, who has channelled her passion for design into the world of bridal gowns. Working from her studio in Long Street, Cape Town, she creates luxury wedding gowns that evoke drama and glamour of past eras whilst still maintaining a modern edge.

Soon after finishing her studies in 1993, Cindy moved to France, where she experienced the elegance of classic French design. She returned to South Africa in 1996, moved to Cape Town where she has gained invaluable experience as a designer. Her work, not only reflects her love for design, but also celebrates the sensuality, romance and spirit of women.

Using only the very best fabrics sourced from around the world, Cindy’s designs are known for their superior fit with a vintage touch. Every gown is hand-made, lovingly crafted by an in-house team of seamstresses and beaders who share in the Cindy Bam culture – to offer exceptional quality in product and service.

In addition to her bespoke design service, Cindy Bam offers a range of unique, ready-to-wear bridal and evening gowns, available for purchase or hire. Clients have the opportunity to try on various styles to see what best suits their figure and personality. All clients are assured of Cindy’s personal attention throughout the process, and can always look forward to a warm welcome and a relaxed studio environment.

The consultation

Cindy Bam meets with clients at her studio in Long Street, Cape Town, where she designs and manufactures from. She offers a range of ready-to-wear bridal purchase – or she can design a dream custom made gown just for you. To receive Cindy’s undivided attention, clients are required to make an appointment in advance. The initial consultation takes approximately one hour and a consultation fee applies.

Expect to share ideas, try on dresses and find the style that best suits your personality and your figure. You will view fabric samples, discuss your personal preferences and ultimately create a complete look for your special day. To make the most of your appointment, Cindy suggests browsing her website beforehand, so that you are familiar with her design style. If possible, print pictures of your favourite gowns and bring them along to your appointment.

Fabric choices are based on budget. Final cost is also determined by the amount of work required. With a clear idea on your budget, Cindy will be able to make the appropriate recommendations from the start
