Herman Verwey is a documentary and wedding photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Herman began his photography career as a freelance photographer for Media24 while studying, where he discovered his passion for documentary photography. Over the years, he has earned numerous national and international accolades, including CNN African Photojournalist of the Year, POYi (Pictures of the Year International), Sony World Photography Awards, Media24 Photographer of the Year, SAB Photographer of the Year, and Vodacom Regional Photojournalist of the Year.

After a decade of covering news, Herman sought a change and found his true calling in documentary wedding photography. He continues to work in a photojournalistic style, capturing the authentic moments of the most significant day in a couple’s life.
